# Issue 1: There was an error during Installation
While you are installing the SharePoint 2013 you may find an error at the time of installation of the Application Server Role, Web Server (IIS) Role: Error while configuration.

- You need to insert the DVD or the ISO image of the Windows Server 2012 installation.
- Then you need to open the command prompt window and run it as an Administrator and run the following command in it.
- Dism /online /enable-feature /featurename:NetFX3 /All /Source:D:sourcesSxS /LimitAccess
Note: Here the CD Drive is labeled as D:/ it might be in E or F or any in your case. Or you can choose the drive where the Windows Server 2012 ISO image is saved.
D: is a Label for CD Drive in my case where Windows Server 2012 ISO image.
# Issue 2: “Failed to create the configuration database”
While running the Configuration Wizard users are getting the “failed to create the configuration database” error in SharePoint 2013.
Solutions:
To fix this issue you need to change the setting of the SQL Server Instance, this step is optional in SharePoint 2010 but mandatory in 2013.
- Firstly you need to open the Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio
- Then you need to log in as a sysadmin user
- Now right-click on the instance name and after this, you need to select the properties >> to Advanced
- Then you need to change the Max Degree of Parallelism into 1
- After this restart your SQL Service
And it is estimated the SharePoint 2013 installation error is resolved.
# Issue 3: “Failed to secure the SharePoint resources”
This is another very irritating error encountered by the SharePoint 2013 users while trying to run the Configuration Wizard. as per the users they are getting the error failed to secure the SharePoint resources and unable to install SharePoint 2013.
Solutions:
In order to fix this error you need to change the Owner Folder and to do so follow the steps given:
- For this firstly you need to Go to the C:WindowsTasks
- Now right click on the Tasks Folder and then you need to select the Properties
- Then go to the Security Tab
- Next click on the Advanced button
- Then you need to click on the Change link in the owner filed
- And Enter the local Administrators group where the SharePoint account performs installation which belongs to this group
# Issue 4: The Installation of this Package Failed
Many SharePoint 2013 users and reported this error while installing the April 2013 Cumulative update http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2726992

In order to fix this error, you need to make sure that you need to keep the cap file with the exe file when you download the package at the time of the installation and the reason for this is that CU has two files when the size is more than 2 GB.

- After clicking on ‘Repair‘, this dialog box will appear. Specify the SQL Server name or Instance name and the desired destination path.
- Click on the ‘Browse‘ option to choose the destination path. And select the ‘OK‘ button.
- Once this process gets completed, you would find a dialog box that displays this message ‘Recovered file saved at the desired location.” This shows that Recovery Process has successfully completed’.
- Select the ‘OK‘ button.
- You would find another dialog box that asks whether you want to attach the repaired database to the web application. If you click on the ‘Yes‘ button, the above dialog box will be displayed.
- In the web application type URL, the name of the corrupt database and SQL Server Instance name.
- Then select the ‘OK‘ button and proceed.
- When the process gets finished, you would be able to access the repaired database by opening the web application.
