Fix error related to installation.
While installing Oracle 12c if you face the error then follow the steps mentioned below:
- You should not close Oracle Universal Installer.

SYSTEM_DRIVE:\Program Files\Oracle\Inventory\logs
And to view the log files for interactive Installation
installActionsdate_time.log
oraInstalldate_time.err
oraInstalldate_time.out
Say for example: if an interactive installation was done 8:00:55 a.m. on October 25, 2015, then the log the file will be named as:
installActions2015-10-25_08-00-54AM.log
Troubleshoot Configuration Assistant
When a configuration assistant is running and an error occurs you can troubleshoot it in the following ways:
- In order to analysis the installation log files from the list you have to Review the Log of an Installation Session.
- The log file is located in ORACLE_BASE\cfgtoollogs Try fixing the issue that causes the error.
- If you get error as “Fatal Error. Reinstall message”, by reviewing the log files look for the reason of the issue. For more information you can see “Irrecoverable Errors’.
1. Configuration Assistant Failures
At the bottom of the installation window it will display if the Oracle configuration assistant fails. The additional information would be displayed in configuration assistant. You can view the status of configuration assistant execution from the installActionsdate_time.log file. You can view it in the form of table mentioned below:

2. Irrecoverable Errors
While running configuration assistant if you get an irrecoverable error:
- First you have to remove the failed installation from the system.
- The causes of irrecoverable error should be corrected.
- Now Oracle software has to be reinstalled again.
After restarting your computer, then logon to the Oracle Installation User for Oracle home and then from the path Grid_home\crs\config run the gridconfig.bat script. After that to complete the installation or upgrade you have to run configToolAllCommands script which is located in the path ORACLE_HOME\cfgtoollogs\configToolAllCommands.
